There are some rules surrounding the holidays allowed for international students. However, 8 weeks is what applies for most cases. If you have any queries, schedule your appointment online or in person.

To calculate the vacation period you will have after the end of the COE/course, just follow 3 rules:

  • If the course is less than 10 months old, 1 month of vacation will be granted at the end.
  • If the course is longer than 10 months and ends between the months of January to October, 2 months of vacation will be granted at the end.
  • If the course is longer than 10 months and ends between November and December, the visa will be granted until March 15 of the following year.

Vacations at the start of the visa (before the course starts) and between courses can be granted up to 8 weeks of break.

It is necessary to leave the country before the expiry of the current visa and make a new application while outside Australia, and you can only return after approval of the new visa.

It depends. One of the rules of the student visa is not to lower the level of studies, that is, if you are already studying a vocational course or higher education, it makes no sense to return to English. However, proficiency courses such as IELTS and Cambridge can be taken at any time of the visa, as they are preparatory courses for an exam.

Before making a decision that could put your visa under risk analysis, speak to one of our consultants here.
